To improve the implementation of Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) automatically, an operational approach to transform CPG into a set of computerized processes with extending standards and available ontology publicly was proposed. By extracting subject elements of clinical trials from the CPG semi-automatically, a general mapping between subject elements and ontology model was provided, and the instantiation operation was founded for completing the diagnosis and treatment processes. Chinese Hypertension Prevention Guide (Third Edition) was taken as an example to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the GLIF-based process was constructed. © 2017, Editorial Department of CIMS.
